Good afternoon, from LCS.

I have two important messages for you in my update this afternoon.

Parent/Carer Survey

It is time for parents and carers to send us your thoughts about the school, by completing the annual Parent/Carer Survey.

The more responses we have to this survey, the better we can consider, and act upon, the feedback provided.

Emails have been sent to all parents/carers this afternoon, with a link to the survey to copy/paste into your internet browser. Please submit your survey form, by 4pm on Friday 29th November.

Your support in completing this survey is much appreciated.

Remote Learning

As we approach Winter and the possibility of cold weather, including snow, I wanted to remind all parents/carers of procedure in the unlikely event LCS is closed to students.

We will always aim to keep school open and would not close, either fully or partially, unless there was a clear risk to the safety of students or staff, or if absence of staff was such that classes could not be covered.

In this instance, a decision would be made to open school for certain Year Groups only, or to close to all students.

If students were asked not to attend school due to bad weather, lessons would be run and work set on-line, using email, Go4Schools and Microsoft Teams. Lessons would likely not run exactly per timetable in this instance, but staff would set as much work as they could, to the best of their abilities.

Parents/carers and students would be informed of any school closure via email and/or text message as soon as possible, before the start of the school day.

If snow is forecast, for example, parents/carers should make sure they monitor their school email and mobile phones on the morning of any likely issue. If no updates are sent, parents/carers can assume that school will be open to all students. Parents/carers should check for updates via email and text message and not call into school, unless in the event of an emergency.

Further information for students on how to access email, Go4Schools and Teams from home can be found on our school website at:

Thank you for your continued support of our school, our students and our staff.

Keep safe.
