As a department we are passionate about German and aim to foster a lifelong love of languages as students learn about the language and culture of the German speaking world.
The KS3 schemes of work are based on Stimmt 1 and 2 for German with regular opportunities to develop skills in Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing and Translation.
At GCSE pupils follow the Edexcel Stimmt course as well as a range of additional resources and language-learning websites. Students develop confidence and proficiency in Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing and Translation skills. The department enjoys excellent results at GCSE.
At A Level students use the new Edexcel A Level German textbook linked to Boost online learning as well as a wide-range of authentic resources including films and books. Many students who have studied German have gone on to study the language further at university or in their future career.
