Art

The Art curriculum is a lively and engaging programme that has been designed to progressively develop students’ skills in using a range of media (including ICT) and across a wide variety of formats (sculpture / two dimensional / large scale imagery), genres and cultural and social contexts. Students also learn different creative processes when developing outcomes and this recognises the value of understanding the work of artists, designers and their contexts. These skills will equip them in their next stage of the Art curriculum and within a prospective career in the Creative Arts Industry.

Additionally, and more importantly, we have devised a creative and investigative course, which enables students the opportunity to explore visual communication and expression. Art requires the generating of image through a conceptual process and it is through these experiences that student’s make sense of the environment that they are in and build skills as lifelong learners.
