Why are people striking all over the UK?

By: Anisa

This news report is to inform the reader more information about inflation and who it affects. Also, to see the positive and negatives of money rises in the UK. In addition, to tell you about the reasons for money rises and my opinion on money rises and the amount of people striking.

Experts say the prices rising is a problem but this problem effects those working under the sudden money rises and this also affects the homeless. Some food like bread has increased prices by 20% percentage. Even though money rises are negative there is some pros like reducing unemployment due to nominal wage rigidity allowing the central bank greater investment instead of money hoarding and avoiding the inefficacious associated with deflation. This means the bank is at its highest in 14 years. All though there are negatives of money rises. Inflation is one of the most common problems in money because of high costing on food which people need to survive, and this is a main problem for those already struggling in money. Inflation also effects new coming businesses. When inflation is high, each unit of currency buys fewer goods and services. As a result, businesses may find it difficult to maintain their profit margins. In addition, consumers may cut back on their spending, which can lead to lower sales for businesses all over the world.

Who is striking? teachers, train worker, the NHS, Environment Agency, Airport workers, university staff and civil servants   are striking all over the UK. Therefore, those workers who decided to strike are striking for higher wages and their rights. This effect those who need care, transport and health assistance. These workers are the most infected by inflation. Inflation effects many. For example, those with fixed pay checks. Teacher and many other workers are striking because they have a right to voice their opinions. In result there are some worker aren`t allowed to strike because of the importance of their job like police officers. Nurses and doctor are allowed to strike if the wellbeing of patients is unaffected. Some say that striking is also negative because the workers striking don`t get paid on that day and could be sued for a breach of contract by their bosses. Would you strike for higher wages even though the risks of getting sued?

If worker who strike pretended that it was ok to work under the sudden pay rises, then there wouldn`t be change in the future. This is why many people strike for the future and their lives. In my opinion money rises is negative because inflation effects many all over the UK and I agree with those striking.  Striking is more of an opinion if worker feel that inflation isn`t fair and can strike should but if you don`t then they shouldn`t have to strike. In conclusion I think striking is good for those who want to and can change the world of money for the next generation because money has been a problem on earth since the 1960`s and to where we are now in present time. 500,000 workers have been striking not just now but, in the past, as well. Do we really want more strikes in the future?
